Avi's Backdrop
Avi's Backdrop is a software by Avi Drissman. It is one of the most popular backdrop applications for NewtonOS. The official page is on Avi's website.
At the end of 1999, I worked with Avi to fix an incompatibility between his program and alt.rec..... Avi then published the source code of his software and I wrote a replacement method for the birthdays, more suitable to the way I handle birthdays on my Newton (it gets the birthdays directly from the cardfile rather than using the Dates application).
Since then, I am apparently the only one to make modifications to Avi's BD and publish them (although some developers like Stephanie Macks grabbed some code for their own software). Since Avi does not have enough time to publish these modifications on his website, I first sent them to interested users, then to Victor Rehorst for UNNA and finally, I decided to put them on my website.
You will find here the last version of Avi's BD that I built. If you have made changes to Avi's BD, don't hesitate to send them to me to merge them with my owns.
Change History

- Fixed a bug in the birthday code (they were not recomputed at midnight)
- Birthday dates now appear in abbreviated format, as in Avi's BD 1.26.
- The background picture can now be selected randomly among all the pictures that are suitable for Avi's BD (it is selected when the Newton is powered on).
- Added spanish translation by Daniel Padilla
